Candidate for Ward 2 Guelph City Council
The safety of our streets and neighbourhoods is the number one concern I hear from my constituents.
The cost of living is an increasingly urgent concern for many families and individuals across Guelph.
The decisions I make and the issues I advocate for at Guelph City Council are based on what’s most important to my constituents.
Guelph has a bounty of trails, naturalized greenspaces, river systems, parks and sports fields. We also have an ambitious goal to reach 40% tree canopy cover.
The safety of our streets and neighbourhoods is the number one concern I hear from my constituents.
I have worked to make our streets safer by consistently advocating for more traffic calming measures and a stronger, more effective Community Road Safety Strategy.
I have also supported adequate funding for Emergency and Police Services, and advocated for more collaboration between our police and social services.
An important part of community safety is taking care of our most vulnerable residents. I consistently support poverty-reduction and homelessness-prevention initiatives that fall within the scope of municipal governance.
The cost of living is an increasingly urgent concern for many families and individuals across Guelph.
Our municipality has an important role to play in supporting local affordability. We need to balance providing great municipal services for everyone in Guelph, while reducing property tax increases as much as possible.
I support avoiding costly emergency repairs to our municipal buildings and equipment, by staying on top of routine maintenance and timely replacement of buildings and equipment.
I also support adequate funding for shared benefit resources, including our public transit system, public libraries, and recreation centres.
The decisions I make and the issues I advocate for at Guelph City Council are based on what's most important to my constituents.
I strive to be an accessible and responsive elected official. I am always happy to meet my neighbours, grab a coffee and understand your views and opinions about municipal issues.
I send out monthly newsletters to keep my constituents informed and to ask for your opinions on municipal issues.
I listen to my constituents and take the time to understand your views, so I can make informed decisions that support our shared vision for our community.
Guelph has a bounty of trails, naturalized greenspaces, river systems, parks and sports fields. We also have an ambitious goal to reach 40% tree canopy cover.
As a dad who spends a lot of time outdoors, exploring with my toddler, I am a strong advocate for maintaining the quality and quantity of these green shared resources.
As your City Councillor I will continue fight for parks and playgrounds that meet the needs of our our growing population.
I will also continue to advocate for protecting our natural heritage system and improving our recreation and active transportation trails.
I would be honoured to earn your support in this election. As your Ward 2 City Councillor, I will continue:

Since being elected as a Ward 2 Councillor, I have focused on listening to my constituents, understanding your needs and concerns, and advocating for the issues you care most about.
I am an committed advocate for community and road safety, affordable living, greater accountability and communication from City Council, and protecting our green spaces. I believe that Guelph City Council needs to focus on providing the best value for your taxes, by focusing on providing adequate funding for essential municipal services.
I currently serve as Chair for the Corporate Services Committee, which includes the Finance, Human Resources and Information Technology departments. I also represent Guelph on the boards of directors of Wellington Dufferin Guelph Public Health and the Downtown Guelph Business Association.
Help me stand up for safer streets and neighbourhoods, housing affordability, greater accountability and protecting our green spaces.
If you agree with my priorities and want an accessible, responsive and accountable Councillor, then I ask you to support my re-election campaign.
With your support I will be able to continue advocating for your issues at City Hall and representing everyone in Ward 2.
